For me, painting directly from life is a means of visual communication and also a record of my varied travels, encounters, and experiences. My aim is to imbue every work with the life and spirit of a particular time and place. The common thread throughout my work is a celebration of drawing, color and light.  I love painting it all. Tacked to my studio easel are a few lines from a poem by William Wordsworth:

“There was a time when meadow, grove, and stream,
The earth, and every common sight
To me did seem
Apparelled in celestial light,”
